Payment Gateway Monitor Documentation

Review WooCommerce gateway readiness, checkout surface checks, failed and pending payment patterns, webhook checklist items, local reports, and test notes.

Scope

Payment failures often look like isolated orders until failed, pending, webhook, currency, or gateway-readiness patterns are reviewed together.

For: WooCommerce owners, developers, and agencies responsible for checkout reliability.

  • WooCommerce is required for gateway checks.
  • Payment provider secrets and full customer payment details are not collected.
  • Local findings are readiness signals, not payment-provider guarantees.

Workflow

Setup and operating notes

Run A Local Scan

Use the wp-admin dashboard to review enabled gateways, provider/plugin readiness, checkout page assignment, HTTPS, failed and pending order pressure, and local gateway risk score.

Document Payment Evidence

Use the webhook checklist, test-payment readiness notes, manual gateway test log, printable summaries, report history, and CSV/JSON exports for support or agency handoff.

Avoid Provider Overreach

The free plugin reads local WooCommerce configuration and order-status patterns. It does not call Stripe, PayPal, or other gateway APIs, replay webhooks, capture payments, refund payments, or change order statuses.
