Site Discovery Checker Documentation

Check local WordPress discovery readiness for robots.txt, sitemaps, indexability, noindex, canonical hints, schema, identity signals, llms.txt, and AI/search visibility basics.

Scope

Discovery readiness checks should identify practical blockers without promising indexing, rankings, citations, or AI answer inclusion.

For: Site owners, SEO teams, agencies, publishers, local businesses, and ecommerce teams preparing discovery handoffs.

  • The free plugin checks local WordPress readiness signals and same-site public URLs only.
  • It does not query AI providers, track rankings, crawl competitors, or manage hosted monitoring.
  • Search engines and AI answer systems make their own crawling, indexing, ranking, and citation decisions.

Workflow

Setup and operating notes

Run Local Discovery Checks

Accept the local data acknowledgement and run the dashboard check for search visibility, robots.txt, sitemap readiness, homepage and sitemap response status, noindex, canonical mismatch, password protection, and optional llms.txt.

Review Identity Signals

Use grouped findings, Fix First guidance, latest report output, CSV export, local history, homepage metadata, schema hints, social preview metadata, sameAs links, and identity image checks.

Use With SEO Tools

The plugin complements SEO plugins by reporting focused readiness signals. It does not change robots rules, sitemap settings, noindex settings, schema markup, titles, or SEO plugin settings.
